Those familiar with Iceland will know of the tiny decorative elf houses, or álfhól, are built for the Huldufólk (Hidden People), you see them dotted around as you travel around the country.
Iceland is my happy place, a magical place that feels like home, I wanted to make something associated with Iceland and thought what better than sweet little elf houses.
Made of clay, on a wooden, circular base, the two elf houses are nestled in the mountain side, the little red houses have tiny windows and tiny doors with little pebble doorseps. there is a lava rock beside them and they are covered with lovely, soft moss with tiny pink flowers and a toadstool.
This is truly a magical piece, I absolutely loved making. It measures 5 cm in height and 12 cm in length.
